I came to the field of wedding photography through my work documenting various religious practices, and have always been fascinated by traditions and cultures outside of my own. Throughout my career, I’ve shot many different types of weddings, but this was the first Sikh wedding I’ve had had the opportunity to shoot. It was an amazing experience learning about the Sikh traditions, capturing the stunning moments and details of the day, and most of all, sharing all this with a couple who are truly beautiful people, inside and out.
Here is Becca, preparing for the ceremony.
I was thrilled to have Jeanette Sanchez second-shooting with me. Jeanette shot this great image of Becca’s henna and jewelry.
Meanwhile, Sabin was preparing for the ceremony in the guy’s room.
The Sikh holy book is called the Guru Granth Sahib, and it is around this book that the ceremony is conducted.
Sabin and Becca were surrounded by their friends and family throughout the ceremony.
Sabin handed the end of his palla to Becca, cementing the marriage bond.
The wedding was filled with music and song.
Sabin and Becca’s guests showered them in rose petals.
The final bow before the ceremony concluded.
Becca’s bouquet was one of the most gorgeous arrangements I had ever seen.
Sabin and Becca’s reception was an extravagant, and yet personal, affair, which including performances by dance troupes, emotional toasts from loved ones, endless food, dancing by nearly every guest in attendance, and even a special dance performance by Sabin and Becca.
This is one of my all-time favorite wedding images.
This shot of Sabin and Becca sharing a kiss on the dance floor is another of my favorites.
Congratulations to you both on finding such perfect matches in each other. Your wedding was an absolutely unforgettable day, and I know your marriage is going to be as equally astounding.
